Picture of the Scouts on the MPC Munster 2004The Scout Section offers young people the opportunity to experience fun, adventure and challenge designed to meet their needs.

Scouts work as members of a Patrol (6-8 Scouts) within a Scout Troop (4-6 Patrols) They work with the assistance and guidance of Scout Leaders to experience the joys of Scouting.  The Patrol system exploits the natural 'gang' which young people operate. By the use of this method the aims of Scouting can be easily achieved.

The activities normally undertaken (usually two a month) by the Scouts include hiking, hostelling, abseiling, camping, bowling, swimming, canoeing, dry slope
skiing, etc., to highlight just a few.

Scouts may choose to challenge themselves and test their proficiency in a chosen skill.  This is possible by taking part in a series of challenges as part of the progress scheme or by competing for a merit badge in their chosen subject.

Our Scout Leadership Team is led by Joe Briggs, who is assisted by Niall Kenny and Shane Briggs.  Scouts meet every Wednesday night from 7pm to 9.30pm in Bluebell Community Centre, Old Naas Road, Bluebell.
